Mount Everest, known in Nepali as Sagarmatha and Chomolungma in the Tibetan language is the Earth’s highest mountain at an elevation of 8,848 meters above sea level. Mount Everest is located in the Mahalangur Himal sub-range of the Himalayas. The international border between Nepal and China (Tibet Autonomous Region) runs across its summit point. There are two main climbing routes, one approaching the summit from the southeast in Nepal (known as the “standard route”) and the other from the north in Tibet. While not posing substantial technical climbing challenges on the standard route, Everest presents dangers such as altitude sickness, weather, and wind, as well as significant hazards from avalanches and the Khumbu Icefall.
Mount Everest is the dream destination for all mountaineers and climbers and nothing compares to the adrenaline rush you get when you stand on the highest peak of the world!

We will visit a UNESCO Heritage site; Boudhanath Stupa, which lies approximately 6 km north east from central Kathmandu, which was probably built in the 14th century. Located at the valley floor, Boudhanath Stupa is considered a jewel point in the center of a natural mandala, a store of sacred energy. Today it remains an important place of pilgrimage and meditation for Tibetan Buddhists and local Nepalis, as well as a popular tourist site. The site was damaged in the 2015 earthquake. Thanks to the united efforts of the community, it has been restored to its full glory. We will have lunch at one of the restaurants overlooking the scenic stupa site.
In the afternoon we will visit the Pashupatinath Temple, also a UNESCO Heritage site. It is a famous and sacred Hindu temple located on the banks of the Bagmati River. Non Hindus are restricted from entering the main temple and so will be going around the cremation spot. You can see the richly ornamented pagoda house with the sacred linga or holy symbol of Lord Shiva.
