Today it remains an important place of pilgrimage and meditation for Tibetan Buddhists and local Nepalis, as well as a popular tourist site. The site was damaged in the 2015 earthquake. Thanks to the united efforts of the community, it has been restored to its full glory. We will have lunch at one of the restaurants overlooking the scenic stupa site.

In the afternoon we will visit the Pashupatinath Temple, also a UNESCO Heritage site. It is a famous and sacred Hindu temple located on the banks of the Bagmati River.
