The Three Pass Trek is every trekkers dream as it is the complete trekking experience of the Everest region. The Trek leads you to the high altitude pass with hikes to smaller peaks giving you the panoramic views on the way of the Himalayan range. Throughout the Trek you will experience the warm and hospitable culture of the Sherpa community. The Three Pass Trek involves physically challenging trekking adventure through the valleys of Bhotekoshi, Gokyo, Khumbu and Imja Tse and the rugged high passes of Renjo la (5,340 meters), Cho La (5,420 meters) and Kongma La (5,535 meters) with ascents of Gokyo Ri (5,330 meters), Kalapathar (5,545meters) and Chukung (4,730 meters). The hike to Everest Base Camp makes this trek the incomparable trekking experience a true adventurer longs for.

Day 1
Day 1: Kathmandu 1,336 meters

Representative from EWT will receive you at the airport and take you to the hotel.

Day 2
Day 2: Sightseeing in Kathmandu.

We will visit a UNESCO Heritage site; Boudhanath Stupa, which lies approximately 6 km north east from central Kathmandu, which was probably built in the 14th century. Located at the valley floor, Boudhanath Stupa is considered a jewel point in the center of a natural mandala, a store of sacred energy. Today it remains an important place of pilgrimage and meditation for Tibetan Buddhists and local Nepalis, as well as a popular tourist site. The site was damaged in the 2015 earthquake. Thanks to the united efforts of the community, it has been restored to its full glory. We will have lunch at one of the restaurants overlooking the scenic stupa site.

In the afternoon we will visit the Pashupatinath Temple, also a UNESCO Heritage site. It is a famous and sacred Hindu temple located on the banks of the Bagmati River. Non Hindus are restricted from entering the main temple and so will be going around the cremation spot. You can see the richly ornamented pagoda house with the sacred linga or holy symbol of Lord Shiva.

In the evening pack and get ready for the trek tomorrow. Pack a bag you need for the trek and you can leave the rest at the hotel/ EWT office.

Day 3
Day 3: Flight to Lukla and trek to Phakding 2,610 meters

The trek starts on gradual slopes with 4-5 hours of walk to Phakding.

Day 4
Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazar 3,440 meters

A trek along the Dudhkosi, a river white like milk, crossing the many swinging suspension bridges we enter the Sagarmatha National Park, we cross the famous uphill towards the Gateway of Everest, Namche Bazaar.

Day 5
Day 5: Acclimatization at NamcheBazaar

Rest day on mountains mean staying active all day but sleeping back in the same altitude, not higher. Rest day at Namche is time for an early start to one of the highlights of the Everest Region, a hike to Syangboche. This short hike takes you to the vantage point where the majestic Himalayan giants including Mt Everest, Mt Lhotse, Ambadablam unveil. You return to Namche, the bazaar with internet café, bakeries, museum, various shops with western climbing equipment and local artifacts.

Day 6
Day 6: Thyangboche 3,860 meters

Destination for today is Thyangboche which is home to the famous monastery perched on the highest altitude in the world. Time to get blessings and awaken the internal journey.

Day 7
Day 7: Dingboche/Pheriche 4,410 meters

From Thyangboche the trail descends to the heavens. Yes, that’s right. Debuche is considered ‘paradise’ in the Rai community. We continue the journey to Pangboche, Dingboche and finally Pheriche. In today’s journey you can notice the terrain now covered in lowering bushes.

Day 8
Day 8: Trek to Chhukung 4,730 meters

Trek to Chukung Valley and explore Island base camp or Chukung Ri view point. Island base camp offers many snow caved peaks, Imja Tsho lake, Glaciers and beautiful Himalayan valley. Chukung Ri view point offers us a closer view of Nuptse, Lhotse, Amphu Lapcha, Ama Dablam and awesome view of Chukung and Dingboche Village valley.

Day 9: Acclimatization at Chhukung

Day 10: Lobuche 4,910 meters via Kongma La 5,535 meters

The landscape rises in gradual slope parallel to Khumbu Glacier. On our way to Lobuche we pass the stone memorials for the departed soul of climbers who decided to rest in the mountains. Mt Pumori shines on us as we reach Lobuche.

Day 11
Day 11: GorakShep- Everest Base Camp 5,220 meters

Gorakhshep is the final point to see permanent human facility, home to a few tea-houses. Two hours trek from Gorakhshep and we are at the foot of Mt Everest. We will spend a few hours at the Base camp and return to Gorakhshep.

Day 12
Day 12: Lobuche via Kala Patthar 5,545 meters

We start early to catch the magnificence of Mt Everest. Kala Patthar offers one of the most rewarding views of Everest. This is where most famous pictures of Everest are clicked.

Day 13
Day 13: Trek to Dzonglha 4,200 meters

Day 14
Day 14: Trek to Gokyo 4,750 meters via Cho La Pass 5,420 meters

After a very demanding crossing of Cho La pass with a tiny glacier follows this easy stage with very nice views of the beautiful pyramid Cholatse (6 440m asl) and Chola Tsho lake directly under it.

Day 15: Rest day in Gokyo

Day 16: Trek to Lungde via Renjo La 5,340 meters

Day 17: Trek to Thame 3,800 meters
