Everest  Base Camp is in Nepal at an altitude of 5,364 meters (17,598 ft). Your trip starts in the valley of temples, Kathmandu. An ancient city famous for Hindu temples and Buddhist Stupas. Several United Nations World Heritage Sites gives you a glimpse of the  Golden Age of Nepal’s art and architectural history.

A day touring Kathmandu and another prepping for the trek follows a twin-otter flight to Lukla where the trail head begins to the top of the world.

The Everest Base Camp trek on the south side is one of the most popular trekking routes in the Himalayas and is visited by thousands of trekkers each year. Trekkers usually fly from Kathmandu to Lukla before beginning the morning trek to this base camp. From Lukla, the trek leads upper to the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar, 3,440 meters (11,290 ft), following the valley of the Dudh Koshi river.
