The Island is one of the popular and busy trekking peaks in the Everest region of Nepal. It is also known as Imja Tse. It is well located in the middle of Chhukung Valley, on the of Chhukung Glacier between Mt. Ama Dablam and Lhotse.
The peak is knotty, but not technical. The trail also offers an exclusive opportunity to experience glacial moraines, suspension bridges, monasteries, prayer rocks, multi-coloured settlement decorated with flags, and Sagarmatha National Park that features varieties of a typical flora, fauna and birds. In addition to this, the warm hospitality offered by the Sherpa people makes the trail more pleasant.
